Originally an environmental biologist Alicia Prowse has worked as an actor, woodland surveyor, lecturer in Biology and most recently as a Principal Lecturer in Learning and Teaching at Manchester Metropolitan University . She completed a PhD in 2001 which investigated the impacts of a non-native plant, Himalayan Balsam on the ecology of native plant species in the UK . One of her current research interests is the workings of interdisciplinary collaborative enquiry.
