“ORGANIC REFLECTIONS” 2004 Permanent public art feature for Longford Park, Manchester, Commissioned by C.I.T.E. Steel, Etched Polycarbonate, Fig Tree (5m x 4m x 4m)

A sculpture feature designed in collaboration with Sound Artist Helmut Lemke after a series of process led and time based collaborative work"Cycle", "Emerge", "Sound, Art, Science" and "Figs":

Etched into the Polycarbponate canopy is the chemical equation for photosynthesis, and the etching around the seating area is the chemical equation for decomposition At the centre of the structure is a growing Fig tree, chosen over a native tree by park users who were informed about the Fig and Alder Buckthorn during the consultation and voting process.
